Sam Darnold's long TD run had the internet thinking he was Lamar Jackson

If someone was told they were about to witness a highlight in which a quarterback escaped the pocket, juked a defender and then scampered nearly 50-yards for a touchdown, the first guess as to who it is would probably be Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

That's a fair assumption given the jaw-dropping plays Jackson has made throughout his career, but on Thursday night, that was not the case.

It was New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold who broke down the field for one of the more miraculous touchdowns in recent memory to give his team a 7-0 lead over the Denver Broncos.

The 46-yard scamper was truly something out of a video game, and the internet couldn't help but think of Jackson while watching the play.

While Darnold deserves the praise for this run, it's important to show some respect to Jackson as well. You have to be pretty good at consistently making unreal plays in order to have your name come to mind when someone else does it.

Going forward, it looks like any impressive leg work by quarterbacks will be referred to as the "Lamar Jackson."
