Louisville left tackle Mekhi Becton was already a projected first-round pick prior to the NFL Scouting Combine, but his performance on Friday boosted his stock even more.

Becton, the heaviest offensive lineman in Indianapolis, ran the 40-yard dash in 5.10 seconds. The time doesn't stand out on paper -- it's an average time for most offensive linemen. But for the 364-pound Becton, that time was blazing quick.

Additionally, running 10-yard splits of 1.80 and 1.77 seconds at his size impressed many scouts.

The Redskins hold the No. 2 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and could potentially have a glaring hole at the left tackle position, depending on if Trent Williams returns or not. On Thursday, reports came out that Williams wants either a new contract or a trade from the Redskins.

Washington almost certainly will not use the second pick on Becton. Many expect the Redskins to take Ohio State edge rusher Chase Young with the pick, but rumors surfaced in Indianapolis that the team was also doing their due diligence on quarterback prospects Joe Burrow and Tua Tagovailoa.

But Becton could be in play for the Burgundy and Gold if they decide to trade back in the draft. The Detroit Lions (pick No. 3), Miami Dolphins (No. 5), Los Angeles Chargers (No. 6) and Carolina Panthers (No. 7) could all be in the market for a quarterback come draft time, and trading up with Washington may be the only way for one of those teams to ensure they'll be able to draft the signal-caller of their choice.

Miami has been linked to Tagovailoa more than any other team in the draft. The Dolphins have three first-round picks, No.'s 5, 18, and 26. A combination of two, maybe three of those picks to move up to No. 2 could be a good enough offer for Washington to trade back.

The Redskins likely could grab Becton at No. 5, should they trade with Miami. Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah could be another option for the Redskins at that pick.

As it stands now, the path for the Redskins landing Becton is hard to imagine. But if the Redskins trade back in the first round, many mocks will likely link the two parties together.
