Newest Redskin Chase Young was unable to have a typical draft party at his home in Prince George's County, Md., due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the 21-year-old set up a projector on the side of his house so friends and family who couldn't come inside could still celebrate.
After being selected by his hometown Washington Redskins, Young stepped outside his house and thanked all those that came out to support him.
Before he could even finish his first sentence, the crowd erupted in cheers, supporting their hometown hero.
"Redskins fans, I hope I can help get us some wins this year," Young said.
After his initial thank you, Young and the crowd joined to sing "Hail to the Redskins," the Burgundy and Gold's official fight song. It was quite the scene.
Young, who grew up just 10 miles from FedEx Field where the Redskins play their home games, was quite emotional when thanking his friends and family.
"I think it's gonna hit me soon, I don't think it hit me yet," he said.
