While Eli Manning's numbers against the Redskins weren't terrible, 30-for-47, 306 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions -- the offense as a whole was very poor in the New York Giants' 20-13 loss to the Redskins.
The Giants are now 1-7, and it all but looks like another lost season. Manning is 37 years old and as it looks, does not have much left in the tank. So, why should the Giants not see what they have in rookie QB Kyle Lauletta.
"LAULETTA!" someone just yelled at MetLife Stadium. Giants fans are now calling for an inactive quarterback to play.— Steve Politi (@StevePoliti) October 28, 2018
Lauletta, who wasn't even in uniform for the Week 8 loss, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft after being a three-year starter at the University of Richmond, where he threw for 78 career touchdown passes.
The rookie has yet to be active for a game and has been running scout team for the Giants. But, he might see action sooner than later, or at least that's what Giants fans hope.

Also, when are the Giants just gonna say “screw it” and see what they have in 4th round pick Kyle Lauletta? It’s a lost season, prep for the future, no?— Kyle Popovich (@kylepop16) October 28, 2018
But will it actually happen? Giants head coach Pat Shurmur was noncommittal.
Will Giants coach Pat Shurmur consider a QB change during the bye week?: “I don’t want to go there. I don’t want to tease that. I’m going to look at everything.”— Ralph Vacchiano (@RVacchianoSNY) October 28, 2018
The Redskins host the Giants on Dec. 9, so a quarterback change could definitely happen before then.
