In what was shaping up to be a breakout game, Redskins rookie Montez Sweat injured his quad and did not return to the game.

Early on in the game Sweat had some of his best pass rushes of the season, repeatedly using his speed to beast Panthers tackle Taylor Moton off the line of scrimmage. Before he was injured, Sweat had 1.5 sacks and another tackle.

A first-round pick this year, Sweat hasn't been overly impressive thus far in the season. Coming into Sunday's game, Sweat had just 3.5 sacks and seven quarterback hits, so his production against Carolina seemed very encouraging.

Sweat was a highly regarded prospect with incredible speed for his size, and Washington traded up in NFL Draft to select the former Mississippi State star. That move to get Sweat cost the Redskins a second-round pick in the 2020 draft.
