Redskins left guard Arie Kouandjio suffered an injury that is believed to be a torn quad muscle, per sources with knowledge of the situation. The injury forces him out of action for up to eight months, putting the entire 2018 season in jeopardy.
Kouandjio started the final six games of the 2017 season for Washington, even though he was cut from the team breaking from training camp.
The Redskins suffered a tremendous amount of injuries on their line in 2017, and were forced to poach Kouandjio from the Ravens' practice squad late in the year to play once Shawn Lauvao was lost for the season.
Washington selected Kouandjio out of Alabama in the fourth round of the 2015 Draft. He also played locally at DeMatha Catholic High School.
The Redskins signed Lauvao back to the team last week, but it is unknown if Kouandjio's injury happened before or after the signing.
