For the first time in years, there's plenty of reason for optimism surrounding Redskins Park.

The Burgundy and Gold made a plethora of changes this offseason. Longtime team president Bruce Allen, who never won a playoff game during his 10-year tenure, was fired. The Redskins hired respected head coach Ron Rivera, who is set on bringing a new culture and accountability to the nation's capital that has not been there in quite some time.

But oddsmakers are not drinking the same Kool-Aid many Redskins fans are. Washington opened as +15000 odds to win Super Bowl LV, in sole possession of the worst odds in the NFL.

The team with the second-worst odds are the Miami Dolphins, who are +12500 to win next February's contest. The Bengals, the only team that finished with a worse record than the Redskins in 2019, are +5500 to win the Super Bowl.

The Redskins rebuild will take time; very few believe the team will compete for the Lombardi Trophy next season. But with a large amount of swirling optimism in the clouds in Ashburn, these odds remind people how far away the Redskins are.
