The Redskins and their fans surely hope the combination of Ron Rivera, Jack Del Rio and Scott Turner can be successful and turn around a franchise that's needed a turnaround for more than 20 years.
Whether that ultimately happens, however, won't be known for quite a while, but the team's three new and most important coaches are already successful in one aspect: being hip.
Rivera (@RiverboatRonHC), Del Rio (@coachdelrio) and Turner (@ScottTurner) are all on Twitter. Will that help them on the field in 2020 and beyond? No! But does it make them more interesting and relatable and cool? Of course!
So, in honor of these three up-with-the-times-coaches, here's a sampling of 10 of their best tweets:
10) Turner can lead a toy train through multiple rooms, a cave and a four-way intersection. Engineering an offense to take over the NFC East will feel like nothing to him:

9) It's tempting to make fun of Rivera for this dad joke, but then you remember he played on the greatest defense in NFL history and still looks mega-jacked, and all of the sudden it becomes a lot less tempting:
That’s my Dawg! Get it? My “dog”! https://t.co/iMTfQ7cBmA
— Ron Rivera (@RiverboatRonHC) March 23, 2019
8) You want a defensive coordinator that sticks to his beliefs, whether those beliefs relate to his style of coaching or why he thinks it's OK to use your reclining seat on an airplane. Del Rio appears to be that kind of guy:
Gotta disagree with you @DanGrazianoESPN unless you know the person behind you needs the room, ease on back. The seats recline for a reason. You can sit straight up if you want to. https://t.co/IWIWlQpl9M
— Jack Del Rio (@coachdelrio) November 7, 2019
7) This hashtag from Rivera is brilliant:
When in Rome I can enjoy @CocaCola at the #Colosseum too! @Panthers #NotAnAdJustThirsty pic.twitter.com/DE6dzuZ0LJ
— Ron Rivera (@RiverboatRonHC) June 26, 2019
6) The following is a list of things Turner likes to watch on TV: football. That's the list:
I will never understand the people that say there are too many bowl games or that games last too long. What would you rather be watching?
— Scott Turner (@ScottTurner) December 31, 2018
5) Here's a word of advice to anyone wanting to dive into Del Rio's mentions with some criticisms: Be prepared to get roasted. Del Rio isn't afraid to do some roasting, as evidenced by this tweet:
Talk all day. There is plenty to respect. I’m damn proud of what we have accomplished. I’ve spent over 30 years competing/ kicking ass in the NFL playing and coaching. How many people do you know have been able to do that? 😉 https://t.co/iPfYoLeWuS
— Jack Del Rio (@coachdelrio) December 5, 2019
4) Celebrating an American championship while standing next to a golden retriever? The only things this picture is missing are a pickup truck and a cheeseburger:
Point made. Nothing else needs to be said. The @USWNT are #WorldcupChamps again! #puppyapproved pic.twitter.com/jSbxY7G9F2
— Ron Rivera (@RiverboatRonHC) July 7, 2019
3) While working as an analyst, Del Rio would respond to many clips from every weekend's set of games. This particular video, featuring Daron Payne going all-out, caught Del Rio's attention:
That’s awesome 👏 https://t.co/KldGfAzsY2
— Jack Del Rio (@coachdelrio) November 19, 2019
2) Unfortunately, that sick Starter shirt gets cancelled out by those awful jeans, but overall, this Turner look back, which he posted the day he returned as offensive coordinator, is tremendous content:
It feels good to be home. Time to get to work #HTTR pic.twitter.com/zk1e3x9s3L
— Scott Turner (@ScottTurner) January 8, 2020
1) If Rivera can coach as well as he can hashtag, then just give the Redskins next season's division title now and save everyone some time:
