NEW ORLEANS—The Redskins will be without wide receiver Josh Doctson when they play the Saints tonight. The 2016 first-round pick, who was listed as questionable for the game with a heel injury, is listed as inactive.
Maurice Harris will start in his place, according to the Redskins.
An Achilles injury kept Doctson out for all but two games of his rookie season. He rebounded to play all 16 games last year and the first three of this season. Jay Gruden said that he got kicked in the heel during practice on Monday and that put him out of practice the rest of the week.
Active for the first time with the Redskins is veteran WR Michael Floyd, who was signed during Week 3.
Harris has always been seen as a player with a lot of potential, but he has only 12 career receptions coming into this game. He was inactive with a concussion for the first two games of the season and he played sparingly in the Redskins’ last game against the Packers on September 23.
Here is the full list of inactive players for the Redskins
- OT Geron Christian
- G Shawn Luvao
- RB Samaje Perine
- WR Josh Doctson
- DE Caleb Brantley
- CB Adonis Alexander
- S Troy Apke
Lauvao (calf) and Apke (hamstring) were listed as out on the final injury report. The other inactives are coaches’ decisions.
Left tackle Trent Williams was listed as questionable for the game but he is active and expected to start.
