The Redskins held their first day of practice in preparation for their Thursday night game in Dallas. The team did not issue an injury report (they will on each of the next three days) but Jay Gruden did make some injury-related comments during his press conference and reporters were able to observe the players during the open portion of practice.

Here is a look at some of the injury hot spots:

—OT Trent Williams (knee) was on the field but he was not dressed for practice. He missed the Giants game with the injury but he played in the two previous games after not practicing early in the week.

—TE Jordan Reed (hamstring), who has missed the last three games did not practice. Gruden said that he spent time with the trainers. “Didn’t run today, we’re going to take off that part of it here for a couple days, see where he’s at,” he said.

—Rookie C Chase Roullier, who suffered a broken right hand a week ago against the Saints, was participating in stretching with a light cast or wrap on the injured hand. “He was just working with the trainers,” said Gruden. “It’s his snap hand, so we’ve got to see if he has enough functional movement to be able to snap the ball, that’s the big thing, and what type of cast he can play with.” Initially, there was some optimism that he might be able to play in Dallas but not being able to practice today may put a damper on that.

—OLB Junior Galette missed practice due to an illness, Gruden said.

—S Montae Nicholson is still in the concussion protocol after missing the Giants game.
