Derrius Guice was supposed to be an instant impact offensive playmaker when the Redskins selected him in the early rounds of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Instead, an unfortunate knee injury led Guice to miss the entire 2018 season. The Redskins were fortunate to see Adrian Peterson perform as well as any aging running back in NFL history, but the RB position was clearly missing its supposed starter.

Thanks to his impressive running in the preseason, fans were already excited for the running back. His off-field persona, willingness to embrace D.C. and engage with fans turned him into a fan favorite, even as he spent his rookie season recovering from surgery.

For obvious reasons, Washington fans have followed his recovery quite closely, and on Wednesday, they were treated to another positive update.

We’ve seen Guice jogging and running in place during his rehab, and this is another major step forward for the young running back. It’s the first time he’s publicly shown off an ability to sprint full speed down the length of a football field, which is obviously something that will happen regularly during the course of a game.

When asked by fans on Twitter how recent the video was, Guice explained it was from earlier Wednesday -- “5 minutes ago” at the time.

He also had a response to those asking for even more.
