Chase Young mania has officially encompassed the District of Columbia after the Ohio State phenom was selected by the Redskins Thursday with the second overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Before NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pick, the Young family got a phone call from Redskins head coach Ron Rivera.
Before informing Young of the pick, Rivera asked the ex-Buckeye to put his father on the phone.
After he handed the phone to his father, Rivera gave Young's father the honor to let his son know that he was going to be a Washington Redskin.
Young, who racked up 16.5 sacks in Columbus in 2019, joins an absolutely loaded defensive line in Washington and will look to create havoc for opposing offenses.
