If the Redskins seem to have a direct pipeline to Alabama, it's because the number of Crimson Tide players in Ashburn is growing by the year.
All time, the Redskins have drafted the highest number of Alabama alumni (24), followed by Green Bay (23) and Arizona (22).
NBC Sports Washington's Trevor Matich argues that they should keep looking to Nick Saban's squad.
"It’s a good thing to get as many Alabama players in this locker room as possible as long as they are worthy of the draft position," Matich said (check out Matich's full take in the video above). "If it’s the decision between one guy and the other, and there’s a Crimson Tide player available there that’s right there, I would take the Crimson Tide player because you’re bringing in culture in this locker room that this franchise desperately needs."
The Redskins currently have the most Alabama players on their roster of any team in the NFL, including the beloved "Alabama Wall" made up of Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne. Ryan Anderson, Shaun Dion Hamilton, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, and Cam Sims are also on the roster, while Arie Kouandjio is on IR and ArDarius Stewart is on the practice squad.
The Redskins have also drafted two players from the Crimson Tide for the past two years in a row, with one each year being a first-round pick.
