After seeing Dwayne Haskins benched four games into the season and then his replacement, Kyle Allen, ruled out for the year with an injury, many believe there’s a chance Washington fans will see Haskins under center again this season. But former Washington defensive back Shawn Springs is not one of those people.
When asked Thursday morning on The Kevin Sheehan Show on Team 980 what Washington will do at quarterback if it's out of the division hunt, Springs said, “I don’t think Dwayne will play at all.”
In those four starts this season, Haskins completed 61 percent of his passes, tallying four touchdowns and three interceptions while averaging about 235 yards-per-game, not bad but not great.
The issue with Haskins seemed to be that he was not willing to put the extra work that was needed in. According to Springs, things have changed and coach Ron Rivera is giving him a chance to change his habits.
So who knows, if things continue to trend upward, maybe Haskins will play and act like the pro his teammates and coaches want him to be.
