Premier League Roundup: Deadline Day sees Arsenal sign Kieran Tierney, David Luiz

The Premier League summer transfer window closed in dramatic fashion Thursday afternoon, and in less than 24 hours, Liverpool and Norwich City will kick off the 2019-20 Premier League season.

Here's the latest news about the Premier League:

Team/Player News

Arsenal: It was a busy few days before the deadline for the Gunners, who sold veteran defender Laurent Koscielny to French side Bourdeaux, sent Carl Jenkinson to Championship club Nottingham Forrest, and then announced the signings of left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic and center-back David Luiz from rivals Chelsea as the window closed Thursday. Arsenal also sent young striker Eddie Nketiah out on loan to Leeds United and sold Alex Iwobi to Everton on Thursday, concluding a summer of big change at the Emirates.

Tottenham Hotspur: Arsenal's arch-rival was also quite busy Thursday, signing English phenom Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham and Argentinian midfielder Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis on a season-long loan. 22-year-old midfielder Josh Onomah will join Fulham as part of the Sessegnon deal.

AFC Bournemouth: The Cherries brought in young Liverpool winger Harry Wilson on a season-long loan. Wilson impressed while on loan at Championship side Derby County last campaign, bagging 16 goals.

Watford: English striker Danny Welbeck signed with the Hornets after Arsenal released him at the expiration of his contract. The 28-year-old broke his ankle last November and hasn't played since.

Crystal Palace: While the long-anticipated departure of Wilfried Zaha never materialized, Crystal Palace was still busy as the transfer window closed, signing midfielders James McCarthy from Everton and Victor Camarasa from Cardiff City, respectively. Camarasa is coming off a strong 2018-19 season, recording five goals and four assists for the relegated Bluebirds and was named Cardiff City Player of the Year.

Manchester City: The reigning Premier League champions and Italian giants Juventus agreed on a swap deal that saw right-back Joao Cancelo join Manchester City with Danilo and nearly £30 million heading to Italy. Cancelo will face tough competition for playing time with England international Kyle Walker the incumbent on the right side of City's defense.

Everton: Along with prying the talented Iwobi away from Arsenal, the Toffees also signed Monaco right-back Djibril Sidibe on a loan deal with an option to buy. Sidibe brings big-match experience to Everton, having reached the Champions League semifinals with Monaco and won the 2018 World Cup with France.

Newcastle United: In a shocking move, English striker Andy Carroll has returned to Tyneside after the Magpies bought him from West Ham. Carroll scored 33 goals during his original stint with Newcastle United before his high-profile move to Liverpool in 2011. "Coming back is something that only dreams are made of," Carroll told reporters.

Manchester United: The Romelu Lukaku era is over in Manchester, as the Belgian striker joined Italian side Inter Milan Thursday for a reported fee of £73 million. Lukaku scored 42 goals in 96 matches with Manchester United since joining from Everton in 2017.
