CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) Tyler Stone had 20 points and 15 rebounds and Nino Johnson added 15 points to lead Southeast Missouri to a 74-62 victory against Tennessee Tech on Saturday night.
Corey Wilford scored 14 points for the Redhawks (11-10, 3-4 Ohio Valley), who snapped a four-game losing streak.
Jud Dillard had 16 points and Dennis Ogbe 13 for the Golden Eagles (7-11, 1-5).
After falling behind 8-5, Southeast Missouri took control of the game with a 20-4 run. During the surge, Tennessee Tech went 5:50 without a field goal.
The Golden Eagles got no closer than six in the second half.
Stone shot 5 for 5 from the field and 10 of 12 at the free throw line. Michael Porter, who returned after missing the Redhawks' first 20 games this season with a broken foot, scored six points and had three rebounds in 16 minutes.
Werth, a bona fide slugger for the Nationals during the last seven seasons in the MLB, also has fond memories against the St. Louis Cardinals. Anyone remember this moment from Game 4 of the NLDS in 2012?
That game-winning walk-off home run forced a decisive Game 5, which Washington ultimately lost. Yet, the resiliency he showed throughout his career and in that Game 4 moment is the same type of resiliency this Nats team has had all season. After going 19-31 through late May, the Nats now find themselves as National League champs. Even sweeter? Revenge against the Cardinals in the process.
