Stephen F. Austin routs McNeese State 71-43

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) Taylor Smith had 15 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and Stephen F. Austin shot 55.1 percent from the field in a 71-43 blowout over McNeese State on Saturday night.

Stephen F. Austin (12-1, 3-0 Southland) held the Cowboys to just 31.9 percent shooting and out-rebounded them 41-25. The Lumberjacks led 23-19 at halftime but shot 66.7 percent in the second half, making 18 of 27 shots and outscoring the Cowboys 48-24.

Antonio Bostic scored 15 points for Stephen F. Austin, Jacob Parker had 14 and Thomas Walkup added 11. The Lumberjacks were 16 of 30 from the free-throw line in the game.

Desharick Guidry had 12 points and eight rebounds to lead McNeese State (6-6, 0-2). Guidry gave the Cowboys their only lead of the night when he made it 2-0 to start the game but Stephen F. Austin answered with an 11-0 run and never trailed again.

Winners of two straight, James Madison will hope to continue its victorious run against rival Delaware. 

The Blue Hens, meanwhile, have won four of their first six conference games and will be looking to keep pace in the competitive CAA when they host the Dukes at Bob Carpenter Center in Newark, Del. on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m ET and will be broadcast on NBC Sports Washington Plus.
