Adam Eaton and Sean Doolittle are pumped for Stephen Strasburg's record contract

When you become the highest-paid pitcher in the history of baseball, you start to generate quite the reaction.

For Stephen Strasburg, who signed a seven-year, $245 million contract to return to the Nationals Monday, the reaction from his teammates has been all positive.

Adam Eaton and Sean Doolittle were the first to congratulate their World Series MVP.

Strasburg opted out of the remaining four years and $100 million of the seven-year, $175 million deal he signed in 2016 after a legendary postseason run and the best regular season of his career.

It's yet to be seen how the Nationals fill out the rest of their roster, but whoever's on the roster come March 26, they'll surely be glad to see Strasburg take the mound every fifth day.

Adam Eaton gives pregame speech and announces Capitals starters against New York Rangers

Due to the recent success of the World Champion Washington Mystics, and NLCS Champion Washington Nationals, the Washington Capitals have gotten a fair share of locker room visits recently.

Before the Caps Friday night showdown with the visiting New York Rangers, Nationals’  right fielder, Adam Eaton called out the starting lineup. One thing both parties have in common, other than being pretty darn good at their jobs, is a matchup with a New York team.

Two-time league MVP Elena Delle Donne also participated in the tradition just two days after throwing out the first pitch of the Nationals game four victory over the St. Louis Cardinals.

It all comes full circle in the nation’s capital.

When you're winning games in the MLB, you're allowed to have fun. But when you're the hottest team in baseball, you get to kick things up a notch.

The Nationals defeated the Miami Marlins 9-3 Sunday evening to claim their 10th victory in 12 games. The club was having so much fun that they decided to participate in a well renowned Nats Park tradition: Simba Cam.

With the best record in the league since May 24th, and a record-setting rotation, who knows what wacky celebrations we'll see next.
