Virginia survives overtime thriller with Purdue for first Final Four since 1984

Now THAT was an instant classic.

Virginia defeated Purdue in a 80-75 overtime slugfest to win the South Regional Final and advance to the Final Four of the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

Virginia's Mamadi Diakite forced OT with a miraculous buzzer-beating floater following a mad scramble for an offensive rebound.

Carsen Edwards was nothing short of magnificent for the Boilermakers in the loss, scoring 42 points and making ridiculous shot after ridiculous shot.

The Cavaliers were carried by their star guards Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome, who scored 25 and 24 points, respectively.

Virginia will face the winner of the Midwest Regional Final between Auburn and Kentucky in the Final Four, which will be played in Minneapolis, Minn.
