Christmas time is here.
In the days leading up to December 25th, CSN Mid-Atlantic will be providing you a look at the Christmas past and present of your favorite Capitals players with our "12 Days of Capitals" series.
On the sixth Day of Capitals, CSN gave to me... many Happy Hockey Holidays!
Very few NHL players picked up the game of hockey late in life. The passion for the sport is something the players pick up early in life.
We received plenty of pictures with the Capitals and coaches receiving and giving hockey gear as gifts.
As you might imagine, (and for those of you who played or have kids playing you know) hockey gear is a popular present.
RELATED: CAPITALS' BEST FROZEN MOMENTS
Matt Niskanen doing his best intimidation pose in his Mt. Iron jersey. The Virginia, Minnesota native was representing his home area early on.
Justin Williams dons the goalie gear showing his son how to save a puck.
A young Brett Connolly shows off his Crayola Hockey Heroes (check out the title in French Heros du Hockey on the box as well).
An even younger Brett Connolly completes his mullet, diapers and dinosaur t-shirt look with brand new skates. Kid has been doing some squats!
You know Video Coach Brett "Stretch" Leonhardt is a goalie, he even got the emergency call-up several years ago.
But that call-up may pale in comparison to his excitement getting his new glove and blocker while he was still a young boy between the pipes.
And finally, a family affair for Barry Trotz as he and Kim take a twirl with the kids in Nashville.
