With T.J. Oshie and Tom Wilson ailing, the Capitals have recalled forward Paul Carey, CSN has learned.

Carey will join the Caps in Montreal, where they face the Atlantic Division-leading Canadiens on Monday night.

Oshie scored the only goal for Washington in its 1-0 win over the Senators on Saturday but left the game late in the second period with an upper body injury.

Wilson, meanwhile, sustained a lower body injury when he blocked an Erik Karlsson shot on a third period penalty kill. Wilson finished the game, but, like Oshie, was unable to practice Sunday in suburban Montreal.

If Oshie and Wilson are unable to suit up at Bell Centre, they’ll be replaced by Liam O’Brien, who was recalled Friday, and Carey, who has appeared in three games for Washington this season. Earlier Sunday, Coach Barry Trotz said the team was in "wait and see" mode with Oshie and Wilson.

The Caps have been the healthiest team in the NHL this season, having lost just nine man games. Their next five games are against Montreal, Pittsburgh, Central Division-leading Chicago, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh again.
