Capitals

Everyone who watches the Caps knows the goalie usually leads the team out onto the ice. In some cases, however, another player will be given the honor.

On Thursday, rookie Jakub Vrana got the chance to lead the Caps out for warmups in honor of his NHL debut...at least, that's what he thought.

As Vrana skated out onto the ice, however, he was alone.

In the time-honored tradition of messing with the new guy, the Caps stayed back in the locker room after Vrana took to the ice and let the rookie take a few laps by himself before joining him. You can watch it in the video above.

In terms of pranking the rookie, this is the standard move. The Caps did the same thing to Stanislav Galiev in 2015.
