ARLINGTON, Va.-- John Carlson participated in the morning skate and is good to go for Friday's game against the Western Conference-leading Blackhawks, Coach Barry Trotz said.

Carlson left Thursday’s practice early to receive “maintenance” on a lower body injury that he apparently suffered against the Penguins.

The precise nature of Carlson’s injury is not known, but Trotz said he was never worried that he’d be without his big-minute defenseman.

“We’re still, knock on wood, hanging in there with our group,” Trotz said. “No call-ups. Same lineup. Nothing to report.”

Carlson, 27, has not missed a game this season. He leads all Capitals blue liner in points with 24 (5 goals, 19 assists). He also leads the team in ice time, skating an average of 23:20 per game.
