With Philipp Grubauer and Henrik Lundqvist battling save for save, the Caps found themselves in a goalie duel on Sunday. Lundqvist, however, got the better of Washington as the Caps took the 2-1 loss.

Here's a recap of the three bold predictions.

1. The Rangers will score on an odd-man rush in the first period - Sort of correct

Ryan McDonagh's goal came off a three-on-two in the first period...sort of. McDonagh's initial shot came off the rush, but he didn't really score until he managed to get the rebound after the Caps' defense caught up with him. But it was all set up by the initial break so I'm taking half a point. Deal with it.

2. Both teams will combine for over 15 penalty minutes - Wrong

I thought this was in the bag when Brett Connolly and Oscar Lindberg took matching minors in the second period. But, with no penalties in the third period, the total number of PIMs came to just 12.

3. Washington will score a power play goal - Correct

The Caps' lone marker on the day came with the extra man. Alex Ovechkin scored from the office thanks to a deflection off of Nick Holden.
