The Caps managed the narrow 1-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday. But how did they do with Friday's three bold predictions?

1. Mike Green will be held off the scoresheet - Correct

Braden Holtby kept all of Detroit's players off the board on Friday with his 24th career shutout. Green now has zero points in four games against Washington. He had plenty of opportunity though with a game-high 26:10 of ice time, by far the most on the team (Henrik Zetterberg was second for Detroit with 20:25).

2. Nicklas Backstrom will extend his point streak - Wrong

The Caps' offensive gameplan was essentially scrapped after the first period after the team lost T.J. Oshie, Lars Eller and Andre Burakovsky to injury. The Marcus Johansson, Backstrom, Oshie line has been great since Barry Trotz put them together, but Backstrom did not have a full game to take advantage.

3. Caps will score on the power play - Wrong

Despite two power plays including a five-minute major, the Caps still could not convert a 5-on-4 opportunity. They have now failed to score 5-on-4 in 10 straight games.
