The Caps will play their final game before the NHL All-Star break on Thursday and they will do it without winger T.J. Oshie. According to Caps blogger Mike Vogel, Oshie will miss Thursday's game against the New Jersey Devils due to a "family matter."

Chandler Stephenson was recalled by the Caps from the AHL on Tuesday and is still with the team. This means he will be in the lineup again for Thursday's game.

As for who will take Oshie's spot on the top line, it appears Jay Beagle will be rewarded for his great play of late. The fourth-line winger skated on the top line during Thursday's morning skate.

Beagle missed Tuesday's game due to illness and it was the Caps' first regulation loss in 14 games.

We will know more about Thursday's lineup when Trotz speaks to the media after the morning skate.
