Dan Snyder's franchise will have a new name in 2020. The colors, however, will stay the same, and the uniforms will only be tweaked instead of changed entirely.
Shortly after news broke on Thursday that the organization will play the upcoming season as the Washington Football Team, some mockups of their jerseys were also released.
According to Adam Schefter, the familiar Burgundy and Gold will remain, while the previous helmet logo will be replaced by each player's individual number:
Washington will not have any change to its color scheme. It will still use burgundy and gold. The Redskins logo on the helmet will be replaced by the player’s number in gold. No other standard helmet in the NFL features a number instead of a primary logo.
Schefter also reported that gear for the Washington Football Team will be available online shortly, giving fans the opportunity to buy merchandise that, one day, will serve as a reminder of this unique situation.
