The Washington Red Wolves movement has another big-time fan on board.

New Orleans Pelicans guard Josh Hart, a longtime Washington football fan and Silver Spring, Md. native, said on his Twitch stream Sunday that the Red Wolves would be his preferred choice for the team's new name.

"I kind of like the Red Wolves," Hart said. "I do like Red Wolves...That would be poppin'."

Hart isn't the only athlete that wants Washington to roll with the Red Wolves moniker, either, as fellow DMV native and Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant endorsed the name last week.

Over the past few weeks, the support for the nickname Red Wolves has grown exponentially. The movement was started by a few Washington fans, and former cornerback Fred Smoot became the first big-name to hop on the trend. Ever since, the movement has gained tremendous traction on social media.

In a recent NBC Sports Washington poll, Red Wolves was the clear frontrunner for the fan's choice of the team's next name. Current players Dwayne Haskins, Jonathan Allen and Matt Ioannidis have all shown support for the name, too.

Washington announced it would retire its current name and logo on July 13. The team does not have a timetable for when Washington will have a new name, but head coach Ron Rivera hopes the change is made before the season begins in September.
