One thing an NFL franchise probably wants to avoid with after announcing their new name is a meme storm from unhappy/snarky fans. If the Washington Football team chooses something like Arrowheads for their next name, they could be in store for one.
One fan-generated concept for Washington Arrowheads is well done from a design standpoint, but it's just a little bit too similar to another NFL team in the Kansas City Chiefs.
Again, the logo would look pretty good if it didn't look like the Chiefs logo just rotated vertically. The Chiefs aren't a bad franchise to model yourself after, but Washington would probably want to avoid this one at all costs. I mean, their home field is called Arrowhead Stadium.
I'd also wonder if Washington would run into some trademark issues here. There's obvious deniability, though it would probably be wise to steer clear of a risky scenario like that if you help it.

There's also the matter of Adam Schefter's report that the new name will not include any Native American imagery, so this one probably wouldn't make it past the initial screening based on its name and logo concept.
Maybe if there was a way for the Chiefs' success to run off on Washington it'd be worth going full KC here. But unless that happens, it'd be hard to see the franchise going in this direction even with the solid logo design.
