A few weeks ago, it seemed as if the Washington Mystics would not get a chance to defend their 2019 championship. Fast forward to Sunday and Washington's win over the Atlanta Dream completed an improbable run to the eighth seed.

Winning five of six, the Mystics are still alive. But, things won't get easier inside the WNBA Bubble. A matchup with the five-seeded Phoenix Mercury awaits, and it's a win-or-go-home scenario.

On Tuesday, Washington will take on the Mercury in a single-elimination game. Here's everything you need to know about the matchup.

MYSTICS vs. WINGS WHAT TO WATCH

A team always wants to be playing its best basketball as it enters the postseason, that's what the Mystics are doing. Despite missing some of their key pieces, the team had their best stretch of 2020 at just the right time. Now, they just need to keep that momentum going.

Getting into the playoffs was exciting, but Washington isn't satisfied with just that. These are the defending champs we're talking about, and they're not ready to give up the crown just yet.

MYSTICS vs. WINGS PLAYERS TO WATCH

Myisha Hines-Allen (17.0 ppg, 2.6 apg, 8.9 rpg): Without Hines-Allen, this run to the postseason may have not been possible. Her emergence as a scorer gave Washington a major weapon and consistent option down the stretch. For the run to continue, Hines-Allen must continue to ball out.

Diana Taurasi (18.7 ppg, 4.5 apg, 4.2 rpg): Taurasi has been shining in the league ever since she entered it in 2004. After missing a majority of the 2019 season, she's picked up right where she left off, providing Phoenix with top-notch scoring while acting as the floor general of the team.
