While Washington definitely needs to boost a slumping defense, that does not preclude Scot McCloughan and the 'Skins brass from going offense at pick No. 17. What we know is the Redskins will stick to their draft board and take the best player available, and looking at projections and speaking with scouts and coaches, that could even mean another first-round wide receiver.

Some decision makers within Redskins Park made clear the priority with the 2017 first-round pick is defensive line, but should there be a run on D-line talent, the team will move another direction.
