The Senior Bowl offers NFL teams plenty of opportunities to watch and critique players during practice and on the field, but perhaps the biggest advantage for scouts and coaches are the interview sessions with players. Most players meet with most teams, but the chance to make an impression on NFL coaches and front office folks can be huge for a prospect.
For Auburn's Montravius Adams, the All-SEC defensive lineman is already on the radar for plenty of NFL teams. And it doesn't take a MENSA member to know the Redskins need help along the defensive front. Spending the week in Mobile, it became clear the 6-foot-3, 308 lbs. Adams was at least an intriguing prospect for Washington.
"It went great," Adams said of his interview with the Redskins.
"They did the background check, talked about my life story, talked about what I could bring to the team, all different types of questions," he said.

Adams said he wants to show his versatility during the Senior Bowl as not just a run stuffer but as a player who can disrupt the passing game, and he believes playing at Auburn will have him ready for the next level.
"I really do believe the SEC is the closest thing to the NFL. I feel like it gave me a great head start," he said.
Asked about the various schemes run in the NFL, the 4-3 or the 3-4 the 'Skins prefer recently, Adams said he can play in either scenario. His preference, "whichever one gets me the tackle the quickest."
A second-team All American who started 26 consecutive games for the Tigers, Adams is a big body who can be depended on week after week. His senior year on The Plains he logged 43 tackles, eight for loss, four sacks and an interception.
Speaking with scouts in Mobile, it seems unlikely Adams gets selected in the first two rounds of the draft, though many prospect rankings will change before and after the NFL Combine. Adams believes he's ready for the NFL, regardless of his draft position.
"I feel like if any team gives me a chance I feel like I can go in and make a great impact."
