The Redskins have until Tuesday afternoon to decide whether to activate tackle Jammal Brown or put the veteran on season-ending injured reserve with a chronic hip ailment.
Brown was absent from practice again on Monday – nearly two weeks after suffering a setback in his attempt to return from the injury that's kept him sidelined all season.
Coach Mike Shanahan indicated that the team had made a decision but that it was not ready to make an announcement.
“I haven’t talked to Jammal yet,” Shanahan said. “What I’d like to do is talk to him before I announce anything publicly. I have a feel what direction we’re going, but I’ll share that tomorrow.”
Brown, who has had two hip surgeries since 2009, returned to practice on Nov. 12 and 14, but did not participate in that week’s pads practice. It’s believed Brown has not practiced since.
