Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins has received another honor.
Cousins was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month for December by the NFL. In the Redskins’ final five games in November and December. Cousins completed 111 of 151 passes (73.5 percent) for 1,378 yards (9.1 yards per attempt) with 13 touchdowns and one interception.
In their last four games the Redskins were 4-0 and clinched the NFC East title in Week 16.
Cousins was the only quarterback in the NFL to post a passer rating of over 100 in each of the last five games of the season.
Cousins’ next start will come on Sunday as the Redskins take on the Packers in the wild card round of the NFC playoffs.
He becomes the first Redskins player to win offensive player of the month honors since Clinton Portis in October of 2008. Cousins in the first Redskins player on either side of the ball to win the award since London Fletcher won it in December of 2012.
