RICHMOND—After two days of relatively calm joint practices, the Redskins and Texans got into a skirmish today that eventually spread over two football fields.
On one field, the Redskins’ offense was going up against the Houston defense in 11 on 11 work. On one play Texans cornerback Kevin Johnson came up and delivered a hit to Washington fullback Jordan Campbell. Redskins wide receiver Andre Roberts and tight end Niles Paul objected and jumped in. It escalated quickly with players from both teams joining the melee. It was mostly pushing and shoving with few actual punches being thrown.
Moments after that one cooled down, another brawl broke out on the other field, where the Washington defense and Texans offense were squaring off. This one was relatively minor, although some players from the other field who had participated in the first fight rushed over to join in with that one.

Things settled down and the teams decided it would be best if they had a cooling down period. They soon resumed with the Texans offense and defense going against each other on one field and Redskins vs. Redskins on the other.
CSNwashington.com will get comments from the coaches and some players who were involved after practice.
