When Chris Baker sacked Cowboys quarterback Kellen Moore on Sunday, he celebrated by rubbing his fingers together in the “money” sign and striking one hand with the other in a sign for “making it rain”.
Baker wasn’t just showing off. The sack was Baker’s sixth of the season. The contract that he signed in 2014 calls for him to get a bonus is he gets six sacks.
And this isn’t pocket change. He will collect $280,000 for getting that sack.
“That’s all I could think about this week was getting that one sack,” Baker said. “I worked so hard this year. I’ve been sitting on five sacks for [four] weeks so I finally got through and got the sack and all I could say was, ‘Thank you Lord.'"
Baker was one of the best stories on the team this year. The organization wasn’t sold on Baker being a consistent performer so they signed Stephen Paea as a free agent to be the starting left end. But Baker outperformed Paea starting in training camp; he earned 11 starts this year to one for Paea.
In addition to the six sacks, Baker has make other big plays for the defense this year, forcing three fumbles and recovering two.
In a thriller in Foxboro, the Patriots handed Kansas City its first loss of the season.

The Ravens are on the rise and Marcus Mariota is happy the Titans won't have to play Baltimore again.
So the Cowboys have an offense now? Or does Jacksonville not have an elite defense anymore?
And the Bears let Brock Osweiler throw for 380 yards. Yes. You read that correct. 380 yards.
How far will the Bears drop because of that dreadful defensive performance?
