The Redskins tied the Bengals 27-27 in London on Sunday in a game plagued by penalties. The Redskins finished with 15 penalties for 106 yards.
In overtime, with the Redskins driving into scoring position, Pierre Garcon was flagged for offensive pass interference, a call that was perceived by many as questionable at best.
Following the game, cornerback Josh Norman took to the podium, and when asked about the penalties, specifically the Garcon penalty, Norman did not mince words.
"Who is official eighty-eight? I've gotta know," Norman said at the podium, exasperated and flabbergasted. "You suck. I'm just being honest with you. I'm just being straight forward. He was terrible and I feel like he should be reprimanded.
The referee in question was field judge Brad Freeman. The Bengals were flagged seven ties for 85 yards, meaning the two teams were penalized a combined 22 times for 191 yards.
But Norman was not done there.
"And at the end of the game, Pierre caught a slant. A slant route in five yards. Got separation from the DB.We were in field goal range. Flag. Coming back. Was that the only first offensive pass interference call of the game? I need to know because I don't think Cincy had one of them at all.
"We go down the field and Crowder scores. Blatant facemask. Blatant. We get a touchdown and no call."
"How many calls did he have? Does anyone know? Because I'm pretty sure he had a majority of them. Him. How? It don't make any sense."
"I'm baffled by it, I really am. I just feel like they really need to sit down and look at that because the plays out there that was going on, I have never had seven flags on me in my entire life and I feel like he coulda had more than that. Every time he (Andy Dalton) threw the ball I feel like there was gonna be a flag."
