After deafeating the Bears on Christmas eve, the Redskins have one game remaining on their 2016 regular season schedule, and the game will help determine whether or not the Redskins earn a berth in the 2016 NFL Playoffs.
Their Week 17 game against the New York Giants at FedEx Field was scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET, but with both teams in the playoff hunt, there was thought that the game would be flexed into the primetime slot.
However, with the Giants already locking up a playoff spot, the NFL has decided to flex the Lions vs. Packers game into the Sunday Night primetime spot.
That game will decide the NFC North champion and depending on the result of the Lions vs. Cowboys Monday Night Football game, could also determine the final Wild Card spot.
And although the Redskins vs. Giants game was not flexed into the primetime spot, it has been moved into the 4:30 p.m. FOX "Game of the Week."
If the Redskins beat the Giants, and the Lions beat the Cowboys, they will need the Lions to beat the Packers. If the Redskins lose to the Giants, they will need two Packers losses, a Tampa Bay loss and a Minnesota loss or tie against the Bears.
