The clock is ticking for the Redskins and Kirk Cousins, as Wednesday marked the beginning for NFL teams to deploy the franchise tag. The team has two weeks to put the tag on Cousins as the deadline doesn't hit until 4 p.m. on March 1.

Last season, the 'Skins didn't use their franchise tag until a few hours before the deadline, and it's a relatively safe expectation the team could work on a similar timeframe this season.

Regardless of when, what fans want to know most is that Cousins will, or will not, be back with the Burgundy and Gold. According to one betting site, the answer looks like yes.

Looking at the odds, the Redskins are a heavy, heavy favorite to retain Cousins for 2017. It's even interesting that the field has better odds than the only team with actual reported interest in Cousins in the 49ers.

Expecting Cousins to stay in Washington, through another franchise tag or a multi-year deal, was always the safe bet. And now oddsmakers have proven it.
