At least three months and a ton of dominoes falling into place are still standing in the way of DeSean Jackson becoming an Eagle again, but in the mind of one current Philadelphia player, the move is as good as done.
During an appearance on TCN's Breakfast on Broad, pass rusher Brandon Graham said he and Jackson chat regularly, and in those chats, the impending free agent has told him he's coming back this offseason to the franchise that drafted him.
"It's an exciting feeling to get an Eagle back," Graham said, via CSN Philly. "I'm just happy because I kind of knew already. I've talked to him. I talked to him when Doug (Pederson) got hired. He was like, 'Tell coach come get me.'"
"We have fun during the season," he continued. "He's like, 'B.G., I'll be back.'... I think you'll be hearing a lot of noise about DeSean."
Now, Graham isn't the only friend of Jackson to come out and directly say the 30-year-old has his sights set on a return to the Eagles. Apparently, while on Instagram Live over the weekend, LeSean McCoy relayed as much, too.
But as stated above, a lot has to happen for this eventual transaction to come to fruition, and two quotes from the receiver's peers don't mean it's guaranteed to. However, it is interesting to see the amount of momentum this storyline is starting to pick up, and in Graham's interview especially, the amount of confidence that it will eventually play out.
Even for someone as fast as Jackson, these rumors truly can't be resolved until March. Until then, he'll remain in the Burgundy and Gold, hoping to make a playoff appearance for the second time in three years with the team.
