Some mock drafts connected Washington Huskies WR John Ross with the Washington Redskins before the combine. Now that the wideout broke the NFL's 40-time record, expect his stock to explode.
Ross ran a 4.22 second 40-yard dash on Saturday. Don't believe it? Watch.
The blazing 40 time broke Chris Johnson's previous record of 4.24, and prompted the former Pro Bowl running back to salute the receiver via Twitter.

For the Redskins, Ross could make sense as a potential replacement for DeSean Jackson, should the veteran leave the 'Skins via free agency. Ross is a similar playmaker to Jackson, capable of getting deep on any team, any time.
With the 17th pick and a number of needs on defense, it seems like the Redskins should lean to that side of the ball in the first round. Yet, it's also possible Washington could lose Jackson and Pierre Garçon via free agency, and the talent of a player like Ross might be too much to pass up.
Ross is not just a speedster like other former combine heroes. He's proven he can do it on the field too. In 2016 for the Huskies, he recorded more than 1,100 receiving yards to go with 17 touchdowns.
