The Redskins announced Tuesday they have signed former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Joel Stave to their practice squad. Stave has also spent time on the Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks’ practice squads.

This preseason with the Chiefs Stave completed 4-of-9 passes for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Prior to his time in the NFL, Stave joined the Wisconsin football team as a walk-on. He went on to become the school’s winningest quarterback. He finished second in school history in all-time pass attempts (1,031) and completions (613) and holds the program record for most career 200-yard games (18).

The Redskins also signed offensive lineman Jerry Ugokwe to the practice squad. Before joining the Redskins, Ugokwe spent time with the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints.
