NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. is a huge Redskins fan but unfortunately, will be supporting their NFC East rival team on June 11th.
Axalta, Earnhardt Jr's sponsor, has partnered up with the Philadephia Eagles to create Earnhardt's car for the Pocono 400.
Axalta unveiled the paint scheme for the No. 88 Cheverlot today, and Redskins fans are not going to be happy.
The decked out car features the Eagles midnight green, the logo, and of course the wings.
Don't worry, the reason behind Earnhardt's betrayal is a good one. The NASCAR driver went live on twitter to explain himself.
"Being a Redskins fan it was very hard to wrap my brain around it, but what I am happy about is helping them promote All-Pro Teachers, a charity, and organization that the Philadelphia Eagles have," he said.
The charity #AllProTeachers recognizes outstanding teachers in the tri-state area who always put their students before themselves.
Will the Eagles bring him good luck?
Only time will tell. Either way, Earnhardt Jr. will always be team Redskins.
