Redskins tight end Jordan Reed not participating in Monday's practice

After separating his shoulder in the Redskins game on Thanksgiving, Jordan Reed sat out practice on Monday.

Reed's absence comes with little surprise as the tight end talked about playing through 'severe pain' in the second half of the loss to the Cowboys. The star tight end was likely able to rest throughout the weekend, and with another off day Tuesday, practicing Monday made little sense for Reed.

It will be interesting to see if Reed hits the practice field for the Redskins before the team flies west to face the Cardinals on Sunday.

Redskins PR announced Jay Gruden will not address the media on Monday, so it could be a few days until a status update on Reed. It's also possible Reed speaks in the locker room, providing an update directly.

Stay tuned.

Elsewhere on the practice field, Brandon Scherff and Ty Nsekhe worked off to the side while the rest of the offensive line worked out.
