Kelley suffered a rib cartilage injury that knocked him out of the Redskins’ win over the Rams last week in the second quarter. There was hope all week that he could play as he participated in practice on a limited basis all week. He was listed as questionable for the game. His absence means that Mack Brown will be active for the first time this year. He may get some carries in relief of starter Samaje Perine.
Reed also was questionable. He was out of practice on Monday but he was able to come back and go on a limited basis the next two days. The Pro Bowler is one of Kirk Cousins’ favorite targets and his absence will be felt. Vernon Davis will start in his place and rookie Jeremy Sprinkle is active.
Foster was one of the Redskins’ heroes in the win last week, getting the game-clinching interception. He separated his shoulder during the game and popped it back into place and continued playing. Will Compton will start in his inside linebacker spot.
