Jordan Reed will be out for the Redskins' on Saturday against the Chicago Bears, according to a report.
Jordan Reed - a huge key to the Skins offense - will not play sat. Fought through a ton to get back from shoulder injury but back out now— Jason La Canfora (@JasonLaCanfora) December 24, 2016
The star tight end will be missing the game to his shoulder injury he injured against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. The following week Reed missed the Redskins' loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but has played the past two games in a limited role.
Missing practice on Thursday, and with yet another short week for the Redskins, the team will not risk extending Reed's injury.
Against the Carolina Panthers this past Monday night, the 26-year old was the target of numerous cheap shots from the Panthers defense. This was despite him playing on primarily third down situations. Eventually the frustration boiled over and Reed punched Kurt Coleman which resulted in an ejection and a fine from the NFL.
In the middle of a playoff push, this injury could not have been at a worse time for Washington. The team desperately needs a win against Chicago if they want to make the playoffs.
