RICHMOND — Redskins rookie safety/linebacker Su'a Cravens did not practice Tuesday afternoon as he is dealing with a strained tendon in his leg, coach Jay Gruden announced.
The second round pick has excited fans and coaches alike with his unique ability to play a hybrid role between the linebacker position and the safety spot.
"We're going to hold him out today, maybe tomorrow," Gruden said before heading to the field for afternoon practice. "He just has a little, sprained tendon in the back of his leg."
Early in camp, Cravens made a few impressive play, including a forced fumble and an interception.
On Monday, Cravens was seen stretching his hamstring and was not on the field much in drills.
With Cravens joining Josh Doctson on the sidelines, two of the Redskins top picks from the 2016 NFL Draft are on the shelf, but they shouldn't be there too much longer.
While Cravens was not participating in practice on Tuesday, he still was on the field and soaked in as much information as he could.
