The first play of the game proved it.
Hopkins lost his footing on the opening kickoff. The result was not good. #Panthers open on own 38.

Touchbacks are the norm for Redskins kicker Dustin Hopkins, who was brought in by GM Scot McCloughan for his strong leg. Watching the opening kick, it was quite obvious Hopkins simply lost his footing as the grass beneath his foot slipped.
Washington's home stadium FedEx Field has been plagued by poor field conditions for years, though so far this season the sod has held up much better. The same cannot be said in Carolina, which is not a stadium with a reputation for a bad field. Perhaps recent poor weather in the area is the culprit, regardless, Redskins fans should watch out for more field related carnage.
