WATCH: Cowboys punter drops Andre Roberts with huge hit on Monday

WATCH: Cowboys punter drops Andre Roberts with huge hit on Monday

There was one point during the Monday night game between the Lions and Cowboys that Detroit receiver and return man Andre Roberts was questionable to return with a shoulder injury. Later in the matchup, however, Roberts did return to action.

Looking back on how things eventually played out, he's probably wishing he hadn't.

Late in the proceedings, with the Lions down 21, Roberts fielded a Chris Jones punt near midfield and took off down the left sideline. After picking up a head of steam, he and Jones began sizing each other up, destined to meet in a head on collision.

Only one man survived that collision, and it's not who you'd expect:

Redskins fans who recognize Roberts' name will be pleasantly surprised to see the wideout did not drop the ball following the devastating hit.

Former Washington RB Derrius Guice a free agent after going unclaimed on waivers

Former Washington RB Derrius Guice a free agent after going unclaimed on waivers

Derrius Guice is officially a free agent.

The running back unsurprisingly went unclaimed on waivers after Washington released him on Friday. Guice is now free to sign with any team.

The 23-year-old was released by Washington on Friday after he was arrested on domestic violence charges. Guice, who had become a fan-favorite during his two-plus years in Washington, has denied all accusations against him, per his attorney.

Additionally, Guice -- who is usually active on social media -- has deleted both his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

While a healthy Guice would likely be an upgrade to many backfields across the league, it's unclear if any teams will take a chance signing him

Guice's NFL career thus far has been all potential and little production. While he's shined when on the field, the running back has missed 27 of a possible 32 games due to multiple knee injuries since Washington selected him 59th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Washington Football Team activates TE Logan Thomas from reserve/COVID-19 list

Washington Football Team activates TE Logan Thomas from reserve/COVID-19 list

The Washington Football Team has activated tight end Logan Thomas from the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced on Sunday.

Thomas was originally placed on the list on July 29 upon the tight end's arrival to training camp. 10 days later, he's been cleared to return.

It's unknown whether Thomas contracted the virus or not. Players can be placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list if they have come in contact with someone else who has contracted the virus.

Washington has begun practicing over the past week or so, but the team has yet to do much more than walkthroughs on the field. Padded practices have yet to begin.

When practices resume on Monday, Thomas, 29, will be competing for playing time with Jeremy Sprinkle, Richard Rodgers, Hale Hentges and undrafted free agent Thaddeus Moss.

The tight end unit is arguably the worst position group on the team, so the Burgundy and Gold could use some contribution from Thomas in any way they can get.
