Wednesday night was the first time the Wizards and Celtics met since their Nov. 9 game at the Verizon Center when John Wall was ejected for a hard foul on Boston guard Marcus Smart. Heading into Wednesday's matchup, many wondered if that bad blood would continue. Sure enough, it did.
Bradley Beal earned a technical in the third quarter after he and Smart got tangled up and fell to the ground under the basket. Smart was issued a foul, but Beal got the technical after both teams confronted each other in the paint.

As Wizards Insider J. Michael noted on Twitter, Smart and Beal have a history going back to last year when Smart broke Beal's nose and gave him a concussion:

Beal's technical was the fifth of his career and his third of this season. Markieff Morris also earned a technical earlier in the game for an unrelated incident, but one that added to what could be a brewing rivalry between these teams:

Man, would it be fun if these two teams met in the playoffs.
